MISSIONARY UPDATES
Prayer Update for
February
Feb.
11-14
Rich is
participating in Belhaven College’s mission emphasis week.
He will teach devotionals and give a talk on the missionary
call. He will also represent
MTW at their booth—and of course spend time with Katelyn.
o
Pray that Rich would have good encounters with students and
challenge them in the area of missions.
Feb.
15-17
Lori
will travel to San Diego to visit with three friends who
were in the
Philippines
at the same time. It will be a wonderful reunion for these
women, who were all best friends during our time in Manila.
o Pray
that Lori would be a source of encouragement to these
friends.
Feb.
17-24
Village
Seven Presbyterian Church mission conference week. Rich is
very involved in the activities of the week. Three
missionaries from his region (Richard Crane, Joe Fitzpatrick
and Marc Summers) are attending and Bill Yarbrough, the
International Director for
Latin America is the main speaker.
o Pray
that those who are speaking would challenge the members in
the church-especially Bill who will speak four times in four
days.
o The
theme of the conference is
Building a
Heart for Missions.
Rich is teaching a Sunday school class this quarter on the
topic. Check out Paul Borthwick’s book,
A Mind for Missions.
o Pray
for all the details still to be completed and that Rich
could be a resource for many in the congregation.
March
3-7
Rich
will go to Santiago, Chile to participate in the MTW Latin
America Leadership Seminar (the same that was in
Monterrey,
Mexico).
He will speak on investing in others as a core for ministry.
o Pray
that the interaction and discussions would create a unity in
the region and move the ministries forward in a common
direction.
Pray for
safe travels, intentional interactions, and that the grace
of Christ would be evident in our lives.
